Date, Time & Venue

26 September 2019 Thursday, Time: 6:30 -8:00 pm at 9/F, Sophia Chan Room at the HKIE Headquarters,

Speaker:

Dr. Garfield X. Guan is a director of ConHubForm Construction Co. Ltd., a deputy head of National Green Construction Material Alien Calcium Carbonate Industrial Professional Committee, a Founding Council Member of Guangxi Calcium Carbonate Resources Utilization Key Laboratory, a Founding Council Member of Guangdong Green Construction Material and Precast Construction Engineering Researching Centre, and a board member of Hong Kong Concrete Institute. He obtained his PhD from The University of Cambridge and he has been active in transferring engineering research outcomes into commercially viable business for over ten years. He is now particularly interested in development of cementitious materials with low carbon footprint, high workability, high volumetric stability and low cost to apply with pumping, in both in-situ construction and precast and prefabrication.

Programme Highlights

The speaker will present his works on applying theory of packing and latest industrial production techniques on maximizing fines proportion and reducing cements in mortar products for low carbon footprint construction.
